Terms and Conditions

1. Purpose and acceptance

Rentle operates an online platform that connects individuals who wish to rent out items (the “owners”) with individuals who wish to borrow them (the “renters”). By creating an account or using Rentle, you agree to these terms and conditions.

2. Rentle's role

Rentle acts solely as a technical intermediary that facilitates the connection and communication between owners and renters. Rentle does not own the listed items, is not a party to the rental agreement entered into between users, and does not inspect the items.

3. User account

You must provide accurate information when registering and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for all activity carried out from your account. You must be of the age of majority in your province of residence.

4. Listings and rentals

The owner is responsible for the accuracy of their listings, the condition and legality of the items offered, and for honouring the availability dates they set. The renter agrees to use the item with care and to return it in the condition received, on the agreed date.

5. Bookings and cancellations

A booking request becomes effective when the owner confirms it. Both the owner and the renter may cancel a booking under the terms provided in the app. Any cancellation should be made within a reasonable time.

6. Prices and fees

Prices are set freely by owners. Where applicable, service fees are shown before confirmation. You are responsible for any taxes that may apply to your transactions.

7. Conduct and prohibited items

You may not list illegal, dangerous or counterfeit items, harass other users, circumvent the platform to avoid fees, or post false information. Rentle may remove a listing or suspend an account that breaks these rules.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Rentle disclaims any liability for damages, losses or disputes arising from a rental between users. Users settle between themselves any dispute regarding the condition, loss or damage of an item.

9. Personal data

Rentle processes your data in accordance with its privacy policy. A renter's phone number is shared with the owner only once a booking has been confirmed.

10. Intellectual property

The Rentle name, logo and platform content are protected. You retain rights to the content you post while granting Rentle a licence to display it on the platform.

11. Termination

You may close your account at any time. Rentle may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms.

12. Changes

Rentle may update these terms. Changes take effect as soon as they are published on this page.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the laws of Canada applicable therein.
